Chew on That
Poets try to help one another when we can;
however competitive we are, and we are,
the life’s so chancy, we feel so beleaguered,
we need all the good will we can get.
Whether you’re up from a slum
or down from a carriage,
how be sure you’re a poet?
How know if your work has enduring worth, or any?
Self-doubt is almost our definition.
Someone once said that to make a poem,
you first have to invent the poet to make it.

Don’t know what I love most, the gorgeous giraffe or this line:
“Someone once said that to make a poem,
you first have to invent the poet to make it.”
One thing’s for sure, I love that I never know what’s waiting for me when I pop over here!

Lovely to see you here again, Janice. I think about you often, and now I’m wondering why your name link is no longer live. You are an enigma to me, albeit a precious one. Hope the giraffe made you smile.

I wish every site I opened had a giraffe, giggling baby, kitten, puppy or something cute and uplifting on it. I suspect folk would be an awful lot more light-hearted!
My name isn’t live because I forgot to type my website address in last time. After one of my laptop fiascos last week, all cookies disappeared so my name no longer appears automatically in the sites i used to comment on.
