My Gallery
Before I had this blog, I drew faces for a year. I used MS Paint, Gimp, Picasa, and sometimes Photoshop. I drew forty faces that year and called them my peeps. I named each of them and imagined their lives. Then I got this blog and haven’t drawn much since. My forty digital faces are posted on DeviantArt. Click here if you want to browse the full gallery. They’re much clearer there than here.
I’m not very good at portrait painting. My peeps look cartoonish. Hair is impossibly hard to do. So is painting by the pixel, but I love the focus it gives me. Each face takes 8 to 10 hours to complete. It’s an easy way to spend a day. It’s a meditation on color, form, and space. It’s getting constantly lost and found in hue and movement. It’s therapy, it’s art, it’s fun!
